We’ll tackle a loop of the Begwyns, using mainly wide grassy tracks and a muddy farm track. The terrain is undulating but not severe. The views towards the Black Mountains and Brecon Beacons are stunning on a clear day.

If you are free and fancy getting out on your bike for some fresh air, fun and non-competitive exercise, join us on a fabulous mountain bike ride starting in Llyswen (Max. 6 participants). This mountain bike ride is ideal for those who have mastered the workings of their mountain bike (including being able to use the gears) and would like to build up confidence and stamina on proper off-road terrain. This route is not technically difficult and would suit riders who have a reasonable level of fitness and are comfortable riding a mountain bike on rough, undulating tracks. This ride will be led at a social pace, with no one being left behind. All adult women are welcome.

This route uses mainly wide grass tracks through exposed upland moorland. In general, the trail is not technical, this means there’s not much single track, no really steep drop offs and it’s not too rocky. However, there are a few rocky bits to negotiate, some deeply rutted muddy sections and a few short sections of steeper descent. With careful riding, these more difficult segments can all be avoided or by keeping your speed down, can be ridden quite safely.

Plenty of opportunity to stop on-route to catch your breath and have a drink and enjoy the views.

Please bring a well-maintained mountain bike, wear a helmet, gloves and appropriate clothing for the weather. Remember to carry a lightweight windproof, a drink, a spare tube, puncture repair kit and pump if you have them. A small container of hand sanitizer could be useful.

We’re friendly, we love cycling, laughing and we never leave anyone behind.
