S80 3BG

Meeting at 10 am at the main car park, Postcode S80 3BG. This is the car park near the main visitors centre. Members of national trust are able to enter the park and park for free. There is a charge for non members. Which must be paid to the volunteer attendants at the cabins on all the entrance lanes. If a member just show your card. ( don’t forget your cards). There are cafe and toilet facilities at the visitor centre. The distance may be approx 30 to 35 miles.

We will travel along trails out of the park and visit, The Major Oak, Edwinstow Visitor Centre, Sherwood Pines, and the Vickers Waters Park. If you love woodland trails you will love this slightly challenging ride. This ride is not suitable for a road bike. Planning on this being a relaxed pace so plan to be out all day.

The route is mainly traffic free but there is a small section of road out of Edwinstow and there are also busy roads to cross enroute.

No shortage of cafes or toilets on this route.

Please bring spare inner tube, bike pump and tools for mechanical issues. ( hope none needed). If you prefer your own food and drink feel free to bring them as we will be sitting outdoors on our breaks.

I love this ride and can’t wait to share it with you. If you can’t come this time don’t worry will be doing it again in different seasons to enjoy the changing landscape.
