This Father and son cycle group ride is open for anyone to join

A fantastic varied route around the wonderful city with splendid views etc . Fantastic opportunity to challenge yourself through some magnificent woodlands fantastic downhills and some climbing too .

Starting from ten pin bowling heading towards rose hill rise in cantley into sandal beat woods to the famous bomb holes . Looping around to the village of Branton taking in shaw wood and beautiful bridleways and a few quiet roads through armthorpe along the way . We then cross through Yorkshire wildlife park to hayfield lake’s magnificent bridleways then into savile woods across bawtry road into littleworth across the fields at rossington glorious views across the railway then over stripe road onto Bond Street into homescarr plantation woods across to the Amazon warehouses to the nature reserve lakes to our main cafe stop at the popular cafe stop Annabelle’s. The next part of our route takes us along the dearne valley trail to edlington pit top along to gain entry into the woods we loop around these magnificent MTB technical route then back onto the pit top and out onto broom house lane then along lords head to warmsworth halt climb to the TPT to the magnificent conisbrough viaduct. Heading to harlington village passing through glorious countryside along the way , going through the old mining site in barnbugh we climb out of that village towards Hickleton onto a bridleway across barnburgh crags passing the rock faces of burnburgh . Then we go on gravel farm tracks on hangmanstone drive towards high melton to the stables cafe for a drinks stop at the little coffee shop and chocolate company. We then head to melton woods and do a full loop of the single track MTB route then out onto sheep lane then over the bridleway to sprotbrough then over the bridleway to cusworth country park . We then head towards Bentley pit top via the Trans Pennine way the through to arksey then through some industrial area to get to ings lane bridleway our route back to the city via Bentley. Over st Mary’s bridge around the city’s university complex looping around back streets to the city’s Town fields taking in the cycle infrastructure around the park then heading back to ten pin car park .

Country roads some busier roads , woodland trails . Gravel paths. City cycle infrastructure. Briddleways . And grassed areas .

Main cafe stop Annabelle’s and stopping at the stables high melton drinks stop . Plenty opportunities to stop for drinks and photos etc

Helmets are advisable, tools and spares to repair punctures etc . Cash and card for cafe stops etc.
