A mix of current and abandoned canals with a soupcon of bridleways to make a good morning out with a variety of urban and rural sights to see.

A mash up of a couple of previous routes, setting off from Trent Lock car park to head up the Erewash Canal/Nutbrook Trail, before cutting across to use disused canals and bridleways to get to the excellent café at Strelley Hall, before returning via similar tracks and trails.

This is an offroad ride, and although all the tracks and trails are surfaced, the winter has taken it's toll and this is definitely not a ride for a road bike, but everything else from hybrids to mountain bikes should be fine. Some gradual hills around the middle of the ride, but as always, pace will be dictated by the people at the back, and we will stop to regroup, chat and admire the views as required. No one will be dropped, abandoned or left behind!

Bring a working bike, a working helmet, a working sense of humour, appropriate clothing for the weather, some money for the café and a spare inner tube to fit your tyres just in case.
