Starting point

Derbyshire
DE72 3EN

Setting off from Elvaston Castle car park (payment is via card - no cash accepted in the machines), we head south through Aston on Trent towards Swarkestone. Just before the causeway, we turn right to navigate around the lake (thus avoiding the narrow and busy causeway). Once at the other side of the causeway we head into the lovely town of Melbourne, where we will stop at the Melbourne Tea Rooms, located in Melbourne Hall.
After the obligatory piece of cake we head East down Blackwell Lane and onto Slade Lane before turning right towards Isley Walton. From here we head past Donington Park and then down around the back of Castle Donington before heading under the A50, past Shardlow Marina and then turning right up Ambaston Lane and back to Elvaston Castle.

A 22 mile jaunt from Elvaston to Melbourne Tea Rooms

A mixture of quiet and slightly busier roads. Suitable for all road, hybrid or mob tyres

Stopping Off At Melbourne Tea Rooms for mid-ride refreshments

Helmets are compulsory as is a serviceable bike. Recommended to bring spare inner tube and a sense of humour.
