Starting point

LN6 5UT

Skellingthorpe Community Centre.

Starting at Skellingthorpe Community Centre this ride is a gentle jaunt out on the Sustrans shared path Cycle Route 64 & 647 to Fledborough Viaduct. The route is relatively flat with beautiful arable countryside views either side of the path, wild hedgerows and nature. Along the route you'll see some interesting art work and benches made from sleepers from the old train line this route used to be. At one point you will also pass some light aircraft kept in what looks like a garden, and a few redundant station signs still mark the way along the path to Fledborough Viaduct itself - though this actual route doesn't allow you to actually see the workmanship of the viaduct itself as you are on top of it riding the route the trains used to take! The ride does however offer great views across the River Trent and you can see the grafitti style artwork commissioned by Sustrans. With this route being entirely traffic free and relatively flat it is ideal for all ages and abilities.
