Heading up the River Lea Navigation all the way to the Waltham Abbey, with visits to Gun Powder Park and other attractions - followed by a swift return by road through Chingford, Walthamstow, Redbridge and to Newham Olympic Park.

This ride is mostly on varied terrain, tow paths, some cycle super highways and quiet-ways, but also return via traffic and main roads. Need to be confident and should have done 25 miles to make it fair to those who can maintain speed as this is a long ride with hills and this should have been covered in lead up rides.

Please wear appropriate clothing for the Ride, weather and travel lightly. Sun protection if required. A hydrations drinks (during journey) and snacks to replenish energy levels. Bring your oyster or travel card for any eventuality.

A hybrid/road bike is recommended. Essential to have a full size bike to assist with hill work. Check that your bike is fully functioning or have it serviced by a qualified mechanic. Tyres should be pumped up to the correct pressure levels to avoid delays. Bring a small pump, spare inner tube, levers, bike tool to release your tyre for possible picture repair.
