Flying Colours - The Only Way Is Essex (Part 1)

We will leave the Olympic Park, passing some quiet main roads due to early start, through Roding Valley, gradually ascending towards Chigwell Row, stopover at Fairlop Water's cafe and outdoor centre. Then taking the quiet back streets towards through various parks and back to the Olympic Park.

This ride is for intermediate level riders, confident in some traffic, with little hill work and multiple terrains. You should have sufficient gears for hill work on ascents and cope with fast descents, gentle braking in maintaining control on speed and positioning throughout, ensuring adequate distance between riders.

Make sure your bike is in good working order ready for your ride with correct pressure level in the tyres. Please ensure you carry a spare inner tube, pump and any other tools needed to remove your wheel, just in case you’re unlucky enough to get a puncture along the way.

Don’t forget to bring snacks, water and appropriate clothing for the weather on the day. Bring adequate rain/sun protection and any medication you may require for the day. Some money to purchase a coffee or for onward journey. Helmets should be worn on this ride. Thanks.
