You have the once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to meet at 8.45 am Saturday, September 30th, 2017, at the entrance of Victoria Quays, Furnival Road, S47YB (near the Victoria Hotel Holiday Inn – free parking in Blast Lane S47TA).

Brooklands Museum is the birthplace of British motorsport and aviation, home of Concorde and the Raleigh collection. Indeed, it has been alleged that there was a Raleigh Activator on display adjacent to Concorde and it vanished into thin air. Now please imagine that, as we travel along the TPT to Cyclefest 2017 and you have the once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to see, touch and ride an iconic 25-year-old Raleigh Activator.
In 1992, I was mesmerised by Raleigh’s telly adverts for their first hardtail mountain bike – Activator. However, due to the weight of Raleigh’s history-making Activator, which has a telescopic front fork that was in-house designed; it has been compared to pedalling a tank. Nevertheless, my endorphins flow as I get very excited just by thinking about how lucky I was to find a Raleigh Activator near the Brooklands Museum (LOL). I also feel very excited about being able to pedal such a much-loved, British-made mountain bike.
Furthermore, there’s another amazing opportunity, if you click the link below, or copy and paste it into your browser, and then click for a free Saturday pass, which should allow you to demo the latest and greatest 2018 bikes. You must bring PHOTO ID AND a BANK CARD to leave as a deposit while you demo the bikes. I attended last year’s event, and I returned home with my bank card, ID and Raleigh Activator – without spending a penny.
We should spend around two hours at Cyclefest and it’s worth considering visiting the Café at Rother Valley, too.
