A 25 mile route starting from Manchester City centre to Stockport and back. We'll be heading onto some traffic free cycle paths towards Sale water park and then tracing the river Mersey to Stockport. From there we head on a traffic-free bridleway through scenic woods to Reddish and the back to Manchester on the Fallowfield Loop and Ashton Canal. It will be steady and there will be regular breaks to let people catch up (we don't leave people behind). At the end we often like to have a drink which is a great social opportunity to chat to other people that you didn't get chance to during the bike ride - it would be great if you could join us :-) ... please bring a bike lock to keep your bike safe!

It will be will be virtually all traffic free cycle path and canal tow path but there will be small sections of riding on roads.

We will stop regularly to allow people to catch up. There may be a lunch stop around half way so please bring some pennies.

Please bring a mountain, road, or hybrid bike that is in good mechanical order with tyres pumped up and oil on the chain etc. We advise you wear a helmet for your own safety, but it's not compulsory. You should also consider bringing some of the following: spare inner tube and tyre levers, any special tools that your bike needs, some food or snacks for energy, a cycling bottle attached to your bike and plenty of water, bike lock and eye protection. Please wear/bring waterproof, warm clothes which are suitable for the weather forecast and time of year. You will be exercising so lightweight layered clothing is best. Please have footwear that is appropriate for your bike Don't forget sun cream (if it's summer) - you just never know with the UK weather!

We especially welcome newbies!
