Join us on a leisurely urban ride, taking in some of the highlights of north-west London. From Ealing, we take quiet roads via Turnham Green and Ravenscourt Park, and on to Holland Park for a brief pause. Then we turn north, through the elegant residential roads of north Kensington, skirting around Portobello and up to Queen’s Park. Our lunchtime destination is the popular Queen’s Park Farmers’ Market,
https://www.lfm.org.uk/markets/queens-park/ where we can admire the stalls full of fresh produce and mouth-watering prepared food, and buy provisions for a picnic lunch if the weather is fine, or head for one of the local cafes if we need shelter.
From Queen’s Park, we have a short ride over to Kensal Green Cemetery ,
http://www.kensalgreen.co.uk/ where we will join the guided tour at 2pm. This is one of London’s most important garden cemeteries, full of fascinating history and monuments to many famous people, set in a beautiful green space. There is a suggested donation of £7 per person, £5 concessions, for the tour which lasts for two hours. Then we will make our way back to Ealing via Kensal Rise, Harlesden and the Grand Union Canal. Our return time will be later than usual (5-5.30pm) due to the timing of the tour.
