Forge Valley Community School – Sports Centre Wood Lane S6 5HG

New to cycling or just need a confidence boost? Then come and join us at the Forge Valley Cycle Circuit in Stannington, Sheffield. The circuit is a one kilometer tarmac circuit and provides a high quality, traffic-free cycling environment. Don’t have a bike or it’s collecting dust in the shed! Don’t worry free bike hire and helmets are available or should your bike require some TLC, trained mechanics from Dr. Bike will be on hand to provide a free bike clinic session from 11.00am (until 12.15) in the Forge Valley car park. As part of Sport England’s This Girl Can campaign the FREE Breeze ride is for women and children of any cycling and fitness ability, giving the opportunity to build confidence to get on a bike in a safe environment. If you have not ridden for a while then come along and we will help give you the confidence to get back on a bike. For others of you it might be to simply show you the social side of Breeze so might just involve riding the circuit and having a chat. You can do 1 or 50 laps, it is up to you, the female Breeze Champions will be there to give you useful tips and advice, we will even cycle around the track with you if you’d like us to. If anyone wants to go a little faster you are welcome to ride around at your own pace, it is your hour, feel free to use it to suit your needs (please note racing will not be permitted). Working in partnership with Sheffield City Council, free bike and helmet hire will be available from Dr. Bike. Bikes must be requested in advance by emailing: [email protected] with the subject line ‘Breeze 16/07/16’. Bikes will be supplied from the Forge Valley car park on the day. As an optional extra, ladies wishing to build further skills can take part in a free coached session during the 2nd hour of the ride or you can continue to cycle around the circuit at your own pace. This can be decided on, in the day. If you already feel confident riding on roads why not also try the free Breeze ‘Easy Like Sunday Morning’ monthly ride around Dam Flask?
