This route heads out from Charnock Farm towards Buckshaw Village and north through Curerden Valley Park. Once we reach Gregson Lane this is where we start to climb some hills and undulations (nothing too steep) as we reach Abbey Village. There is a busy motorway slip roundabout to cross which we will do together. Our coffee stop is just over half way, where after taking suitable refreshment we will leave for the quiet roads and lanes of Briscall, Wheelton and Whittle-le-woods and back to where the ride started at Charnock Farm.

Please bring cash/card if you wish to make a purchase at the cafe.

Will be aiming to ride around 8-11 miles per hour, however we will ride to the pace of the slowest in the group and NO-ONE will be left behind.

Bringing a snack is always advisable, along with a drink and clothing suitable for the weather.
Please check your bike over the night before, checking at least the gears, tyres and brakes.
Please also bring a correctly fitting helmet and the correct sized inner tube for your bike.

This is a community group ride, not a guided ride. Although I am an experienced group rider and have ridden the route before, I have not risk assessed it and am not a qualified leader or first aider. I will happily assist with any issues to the best of my ability, but please ensure you have alternative transportation home in case of any mechanical that cannot be resolved en route. I try to keep to cycle paths and quiet roads and lanes where possible, however busy roads cannot be avoided completely and there are the associated hazards that go with these.
