Garden visit - (from Basingstoke) to Lake House, Northington.

Come and visit a private garden in the Candover Valley - Lake House at Northington. It opens just a couple of times a year in aid of the NGS ( National Garden Scheme) - see NGS.org.uk - https://www.ngs.org.uk/find-a-garden/garden/12308. It covers several acres and includes two lakes so we plan to spend a couple of hours there to allow time to walk / look round and refuel with tea and cake (usually homemade) for the return trip. Entry is £5 and if you wish to buy tea and cake too that will be extra. We’ll ride out via Preston Candover down the B road and probably return via Dummer. Approx ave speed 8 mph. There are (long) hills involved but we'll catch our breath at the top if need be. Timings are approximate so I can't guarantee when we'll get back! (All riders welcome but please note pace of ride). You can use any bike that’s in good working order ( but only a mountain bike if you know you can manage the distance on it ok) - make sure your tyres are well inflated and gears work. Bring a spare inner tube, tyre levers and pump (plus puncture repair kit if you have one). You'll need a lock for when we stop. It’s best to wear layers – we'll be out for a few hours. NB - Please arrive so that you're ready to START the ride at 1100 with time before that for a chat about the route. And if you're new to Breeze please be there 10 mins beforehand so we can guide you through a bike check.
