Gentle jaunt - easy ride

***newly added detail - if it is nice weather on Monday we will stop at the pub on the way back into Winchester, so please bring some money for half a shandy and a padlock (though we should be able to sit outside with our bikes). For those who want to return straight back to the start rather than stopping at the pub, we will make sure you get back ok ***

***This is a beginners ride, we will take things slowly and have lots of stops. There is no pressure to go at any particular speed***

This is the perfect ride for you – a gentle, jaunt in the evening, with a couple of manageable hills. We will cycle out on the cycle path along the river and Hockley viaduct and onto the road to Compton with our first hill up to the bridge over the motorway. Following a lovely downhill stretch through Shawford and Twyford on quiet, country lanes, we go up our last hill before a short section on the main road and back along the cycle path into Winchester. We will ride as a group on any busy road. Everyone is welcome; we will cycle at a very gentle pace and no-one will be left behind.

Things to bring:
Please ensure you have the right clothing for the weather
A drink
A spare inner tube and pump just in case of a puncture
Lights are advisable if returning at dusk
