This short, easygoing route is great for those new or returning to cycling who want some gentle exercise on park paths and quiet roads.

This ride starts with a leisurely pedal through Graves Park, past the pond and along the path towards the pitch and putt. From here we will cut onto some quiet residential roads in Norton and skirt around the edge of the park past St James’ Church and along Bunting Nook back to the start at the Animal Park.

We have some choices on this ride – either we can do the 2.8 mile loop then go to the café, or we can do the route a second time. For those who would like more of a challenge (and if the weather allows), we can also add an extra loop through the wooded part of the park, which includes a few short hills on slightly bumpier paths. Whichever route we take, we will stop for a cuppa at the Rose Garden Café at the end.

Please ensure your bike is in good working order and bring a spare inner tube, pump, multi-tool/spanner and a drink with you. If it’s a dull day it’s also a good idea to bring some lights, the wooded sections of the park can be a bit dark. Helmets are advised but not compulsory.
