Grantchester & Chapel Hill Loop Ride

From the car park we head north east through the village of Barrington, soon we tackle the only real climb of the route of Chapel Hill. Once done we proceed through Haslingfield and Barton before crossing the M11 and entering the outskirts of Cambridge. We now turn south to our cafe stop at Grantchester. Next we ride through Trumpington and on the Shelford’s. The villages of Newton, Thriplow and Fowlmere are next. Lastly Shepreth is passed and back to the cars.

Here’s a fantastic mostly rural loop ride in the area SW of Cambridge. Just to get the heart racing we climb Chapel Hill well the easier side anyway. From then on the ride passes through nearly a dozen charming villages using mostly quiet roads.

Mainly quiet rural lanes and small amount of B roads as well as many cycleways beside the busy A road into Cambridge.

Our cafe stop will be in the beautiful village of Grantchester.

Please wear your helmet and appropriate cycling attire, bring plenty of water. Also pack your spare tube and/or puncture repair kit. Wet weather jacket may be necessary DEORE the weather.
