Nechells Wellbeing Centre, Rupert St, Nechells, Birmingham B7 5DT - meet inthe car park next to the bike container (shipping container).

Part of the fabulous "Four Ways to a Greener Birmingham" day. We'll meet at Nechells Well Being Centre (there are adult hire bikes available - first come, first served) at 11:15, for a 11:30am departure. The ride uses mostly quiet roads, cycle paths and parks to explore some of Birmingham's wonderful green spaces.

The pace will be nice and steady and you'll have two brilliant ride leaders to show you the way as you visit East Side Park, Highgate Park, Calthorpe Park, Cannon Hill Park and some of Birmingham's world famous and recently upgraded canal network.

Lunch (please bring a picnic) will be had in the City Centre Gardens (behind the library) where we will meet up with people who have walked or ridden to the spot from all over the city. At the picnic there will be free fun activities for all ages including sports, nature trails and a smoothie bike. Activities will be provided by the Wildlife Trust for Birmingham and the Black Country, Active Parks, Ranger Service and GroundWorks. The Real Junk Food Project will have food to share that would otherwise have been thrown out by shops and restaurants.

Afterwards there will be a much shorter ride back across the city to Nechells Wellbeing Centre.

The ride is suitable for any adult or child who can ride 12 miles, with one or two hills, and is happy riding on public roads in a group.
