Starting point

Dorset
DT11 7RL

From Blandford Forum to Stourpaine on the trailway, with a stop for coffee at Stourpaine village hall, three miles there; three miles back.
The trailway follows the route of the old Somerset & Dorset Railway between Blandford Forum and Sturminster Newton.
The surface is mostly topdressed tarmac with hardly any muddy parts and is easy to ride on. Our part of the trailway is mostly flat, for North Dorset, but there are a couple of dips under bridges, if you need to push your bike up these inclines we'll wait for you and listen to the bird song.
Into Stourpaine there's a few hundred metres on very quiet roads to the village hall for a well deserved tea or coffee and a biscuit.
On the way back we could take a very short diversion to see Durweston water mill and it's mill ponds, an idyllic country scene and photo opportunity.
