This route is mostly flat but with a challenging climb over Horsenden Hill on the return journey. We'll take the cycle path down Alexandra Avenue to the Racecourse estate, then down to the canal towpath near Northala Fields which takes us into Southall. The beautiful Osterley estate is just south of Southall. We return via the newish Boston Manor cycle path and through Ealing to Perivale, over Horsenden Hill and then skirting Harrow Hill to return to North Harrow. It isn't a beginner ride and you need to be able to cope with a little traffic, although most of the route will be quiet, especially as it's a Sunday. We are a friendly sociable group and will go at the pace of the slowest.

A Sunday ride to Osterley for lunch at the Stables Cafe

Most is on quiet roads but there is also canal towpath, some segregated cycle path and some off-road.

We'll stop for refreshments at the National Trust cafe at Osterley. You don't need to be a NT member to use it. Scones are amazing and they do cakes and savoury food too.

You don't need any special gear but check the weather forecast and dress accordingly - sun cream or waterproofs! Make sure your trousers aren't baggy. Bring a bike lock, water and money for the cafe.

First-timers welcome!
