Starting point

Derbyshire
SK22 1BY

This ride around the hill's of Hayfield will challenge you but also rewards you with its down hills and views.

16.3 miles, 2,842ft of climbing. This ride is for the skilled and the fit and is marked as red for difficult in the Peak Mountain biking book.
It's a tough day out and you will need to be in good health for this one! Extra food and clothing is a must as it can get a bit chilly on the tops.
All riders must wear a helmet and have all the right spares, pumps and clothing for a mountain bike ride. Please study route as it will give you a better idea of what you're coming along to. This is a social ride too! If you are looking for a fast pace group with a race mentality this group or ride isn't for you!

This is a beautiful and scenic place and awesome to ride! I'm looking forward to seeing you there and riding with you.

Please make sure you read and understand the terms and conditions of the social ride!
Thank You
Birdy x

TERMS AND CONDITIONS FOR TAKING PART IN RIDES BOOKED THROUGH LETSRIDE.CO.UK
British Cycling organises rides to encourage as many people as possible to get into cycling and keep riding. We’ve created these terms and conditions for the safety of everyone taking part in these rides. All riders should read these carefully before joining a ride.
Terminology
Ride: any of the rides for which you can register through letsride.co.uk. Rider: anyone taking part in a ride.
Organiser: some rides are organised by British Cycling, some are organised by our volunteers, and some are organised by members of the public.
Riders’ health
Cycling is a physical activity and can be strenuous. Riders should be in good health and any rider who has a doubt about their health or fitness, or who has a medical condition or injury that could be affected by exercise (particularly a heart condition), should consult their doctor before participating. No-one should participate in a ride under the influence of alcohol or drugs (complying with the Road Traffic Act 1988).
Cycles
All rides are designed entirely for cycles (including electric cycles). All riders must ensure that their cycles are in a roadworthy condition, must observe the rules of the Highway Code and follow the instructions of any officials, marshals and the Police. The organiser’s decision shall be final as to whether a cycle is of an appropriate type or condition to be used on rides.
Helmets
In compliance with British Cycling’s rules and regulations, helmets are compulsory for under- 18s, and recommended but not compulsory for adults, taking part in our rides.
Children
All children aged between 5 and 15 years must be registered and accompanied by a parent or guardian. If a child under 15 attends with an adult who is not their parent or guardian, the person making the registration must have the prior written consent of the child’s legal parent or guardian.
Adults wishing to bring along children under 5 years (on the day of the chosen ride) may do so providing they are secured in a BS standard child seat or trailer.
No adult may accompany more than four children on any ride and the registration system reflects this. This adult is fully responsible for these children for the duration of the ride.
Photography
The organiser, sponsors or promoters of the ride may take photographs or videos of the ride and riders for publicity purposes. By registering to participate in the ride either on your own behalf or upon behalf of any other rider including those under the age of 16 years, you agree that photographic images of you, containing you, or of those under the age of 16 years upon whose behalf you have registered, may be used by the organiser, sponsors or promoters of the ride for publicity purposes.
Photographs and video may be taken by a rider for their own personal record of a ride. All other riders should be made aware of this. Those wishing to take photos are requested to be open and honest about this. If any rider or organiser objects, then all other participants should be requested not to take any photos of the ride.
Photographs and video may also be taken by individuals not directly connected to the ride, for whatever reason, and riders should be aware that the organiser, sponsors or promoters have no control over this.
Animals
No pets are permitted to attend the rides.
Risk and liability
While the organiser of the ride will do all in their reasonable control to make the ride as safe as possible, but all riders take part at their own risk.
None of the organisers, sponsors or promoters of the ride accept liability for any loss or damaged caused where:
a) there is breach of a contractual obligation or legal duty of care owed to you;
b) such loss or damage is not reasonably foreseeable at the time of breach
c) an injury is sustained or property damaged in the course of the ride or as a result of
taking part in the ride;
or
(d) any changes are made to the route or conduct of the ride for safety or operational reasons or as otherwise required for the safe and proper carrying out of the event; except for death or personal injury caused by their negligence, fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or any other matter for which it would be illegal or unlawful for them to exclude or attempt to exclude their liability.
Cancellation
The organiser may cancel any rides at their discretion. They will endeavour to give as much notice as possible of any cancellations. The organiser accepts no liability for any costs incurred as a result of the cancellation.
Earphones
Riders must not wear earphones while taking part in a ride.
Use of information
British Cycling will use the information you give us for administration and research purposes in the delivery of these rides. This may include contacting you by email or SMS with reminders or information about your chosen rides. For more information, see our privacy and cookies policy.

Riders are only covered by British Cycling third party public liability insurance if the rider has their own individual Race Gold, Race Silver or Ride membership of British Cycling. This insurance covers members if they are at fault for causing an incident and someone wants to pursue a claim against them. If riders do not have a valid British Cycling membership at the required level then no third party cover is provided.
HSBC UK Ride Social
HSBC UK Ride Social rides are organised by members of the HSBC UK Ride Social online community, and are not organised, approved, or insured by British Cycling. Riders take part at their own risk.
Riders must be at least aged 16 or above to participate unless accompanied by a parent or guardian. The organiser has the right to carry out the necessary checks and refuse participation in the ride should those checks not be satisfactory.
HSBC UK Ride Social is designed to help cyclists find other like-minded people to ride with. Use your common sense when sharing information or meeting new people. Bear in mind that it is possible for people to misrepresent themselves. Assessing their truthfulness and honesty is your responsibility. Examples of things which might give cause for concern may include: requests for private rides in remote or isolated locations at an early stage; someone asking inappropriate questions; and/or someone requesting a lot of personal information at an early stage. It is recommended that for one to one meetings, where you do not know the other individual, you should remain in public rather than go to isolated locations and let somebody know where you are going. Be cautious when you share personal information which may allow someone to make unwanted contact with you. If you have any concerns or want to report anything untoward then please contact us.
We recommend that while on a ride you follow the Highway Code and be prepared for situations such as adverse weather conditions, mechanical problems and flat tyres. It’s a good idea to carry the following items: refreshments, mobile phone, bike lights, bike pump, puncture repair kit, spare tubes, multi-tool, waterproof clothing.
We recommend that organisers:
 should be experienced in group cycling and aware of the safety considerations for cycling as a group
 choose a route appropriate for the group size and ability
 endeavour to attend the ride in person. If you are unable to attend the ride for
whatever reason you should inform the other riders with appropriate notice prior to the event by cancelling the ride via your dashboard and posting an appropriate message on the ride message board
 please tell us how many people went on the ride by entering the number against the ride in your dashboard. We use this information to make the case for investment in cycling, so it’s important for us to gather as much data as possible.
