Heading out from Hirst Lock toward Baildon on quiet roads, dropping down to Otley Road crossing over to Esholt Lane. Into Esholt and taking a right onto the woods following track through woods and then another right to take bridleway up to main road (A658). Descending main road into Apperley Bridge and onto Dobson Lock to find Blacksmith’s Forge. Back home along canal.

A roundabout way to Apperley Bridge to view the Blacksmith’s Forge (who even knew there was one?)

An almost 85% off road route (tho there is a busy main road to descend to Apperley Bridge itself) otherwise, canal trails and quiet roads

Stopping at the Blacksmith’s Forge to look around and then to Apperley Bridge Marina Cafe for ….. whatever takes your fancy (food wise)

Helmets obviously, Tools etc sort yourself out if the wood sprites slash your tyres
