Starting point

Perthshire

This is an approximatly 20 mile circuit to the Wildlife Bridge at top of Scone and then back via Luncarty and Almondbank..

Starting from outside Bells Sports Centre on Perths North inch we follow the cycle path up the banks of the River Tay and then along the River Almond before crossing the old bridge and onto the cycle path towards Luncarty. Once at the new Destiny Bridge we follow its cycle path along the New Kingsway past Scone Palace race track and up to the Wildlife view point. Hopefully the skies are clear and we get some great views and photos.

It's then downhill retracing our pedal strokes back to the bridge. There we keep left under the bridge and back on to the Luncarty Cycle Path. At th village we pop onto the main road through the village and taking care we cross into Redgortton.

Now we on the long drag up to Pitcairngreen. With no time to stop at the village pub it's into Almndbank with a sharp left turn at the bottom of the hill and then over the river and along the cycle path all the way back to the North Inch.

This route has some climbs but they are long and steady able to be taken at your own pace.

We can stop whenever we want or need to! Sometimes we will stop to catch our breath, sometimes we will stop to take a photo, sometimes we will stop to take in the view - we're out to enjoy ourselves, so please let the ride leader know if there are any stops you want us to make.

On all rides a helmet is mandatory.

Please dress for the weather, wearing whatever is comfortable for you on the bike. Generally clothing should not flap about at the ankles, as it can get caught in the chain, and watch for any clothing catching on the saddle.

Bring water and whatever you might need should you get a puncture.
