"Homage to Steve" Ride

Many of you will have known Steve Gregson, who passed away suddenly earlier this year. This ride, in homage to Steve, takes in a great deal of what we believe was his favourite route. He used to do this route from his home and the full version is some 40 miles. This shortened version starts from UCLAN and is approximately 32 miles, with some 600 feet of climbing.
From the start we head out to Great Eccleston via Charles and Elswick, taking our lunch break at Pheasants Wood Fishery. We return via St Michaels on Wyre, Catforth and Woodplumpton.
The majority of the roads are mainly "B" country roads.

Please bring 20p for the toll bridge at Great Eccleston.

Although helmets are only recommended by law and not deemed to be essential, anyone not wearing a helmet will not be able to join the ride. Please be self-sufficient and arm yourself with spare inner tubes, bike levers and pump. Don’t forget car/card for the café stop. Please ensure you bring along a drink for the ride. Also check you brakes and gears on your bike at least the night before.
