One of our new explorer routes.
We rode this a few weeks ago and such a great cultural ride, we even visited a further blue plaque at the birth site of Wainwright.
Accrington to Eanam Wharf on cycle paths and canal.
Dropping down into Blackburn town centre to see where the tram alighted and view the cathedral.
The cathedral staff greeted us as we had a look around.

We then rejoin the canal to Ewood and then we are on road to Whitehall Darwen.

This will be an interesting one. The first British steam tramway opened in 1881 and ran from Blackburn to Over Darwen, we will find out more as we track the route.

We will set off on the canal in Hyndburn and make our way to the Eanam Wharf then dropping down to cathedral quarter and where the tram departed. Time to nip into the cathedral available. Our ride will consist of cycle paths, canal and some roads.

Great ride this. We can stop at the cathedral, Darwen centre and the tramway cafe which is our destination in Whitehall Darwen. We return on a bespoke route taking in some of the Witton Weavers route.

Please bring some funding, I always recommend cash and card. Weather appropriate clothing, inner tube and a smile.

We especially welcome newbies!
