Skill level: Regular leisure cyclist
An autumnal ride starting in Hythe. Riding through the countryside villages of Burmarsh, Newchurch, Ivychurch and Old Romney, we arrive in the small town of Lydd, where we will start our return ride back to Hythe via New Romney and Dymchurch. Depending on the weather, the plan is to stop for refreshments in Dymchurch.
Essential information: Helmets are compulsory on this ride, and your bike must be in a roadworthy condition. You do not need a special type of bike for this ride, but you must carry a spare inner tube and the necessary tools to replace the inner tube should this be needed, if your tyres are tubed. Other things suggested you need for the ride: fluids; essential medication; dress for the weather; cash/card for refreshments.
Please arrive at the stated start time so that we can complete our essential pre-ride checks, and pre-ride briefing before setting off. If you are new to Breeze rides or are unknown to the ride leader, you will be asked to take part in a short skills session with the rest of the group.
Your ride leaders are known as Breeze Champions and are all volunteers trained by British Cycling to lead bike rides and are first aid trained. The structure of the ride and the responsibility of the ride leader will be outlined in the pre-ride briefing.
Start Location: The start location for this ride is outside the Hythe and Saltwood Sailing Club, on the Hythe Seafront – please look at the location postcode. There are public car parks nearby (fees apply) and also free on-street parking.
Toilets: there are toilets at the start location.
Please do not hesitate to contact me if you have any questions at all. I will be happy to help. Angela Mills 07496258162.
