From Maiden Castle we will cycle along the riverbanks to Whinney Hill and then on road through the University campus to Trevelyan College, which Mo attended 1967-1970.
We will also visit plaques to Elizabeth Bowes, the first female Durham University graduates, Rosemary Cramp and Ruth First before stopping for coffee at Durham Amateur Rowing Club.
A lovely tootle around the city with lots of historical interest.

A short ride around Durham city to explore Durham’s links with Mo Mowlam MP and visit other notable Durham women

Many off road with some quiet city streets

We will be stopping at plaques and places commemorating women in Durham city. We will take refreshment at Durham Rowing Club.

Helmets are always advisable, as is clothing suitable for the weather. We also advise you to bring along an inner tube suitable for your wheel, a bike pump and tyre levers. A bottle of water and sweets are also useful.
