In Search of Spring

The route is a mixture quiet roads with cycle lanes and traffic free paths and tracks from Asda Hollywood Ave Gosforth to the Rising Sun Country Park. We travel through leafy side streets in Jesmond before crossing Armstrong Bridge above Jesmond Dene . We will take in the historic Wills Factory and Newcastle United Training Ground before enjoying the waggonways of Wallsend.

At the Country Park there is a cafe with well spaced and ventilated seating as well as an outdoor area There is a public WC

The return journey is mainly along the traffic free National Cycle Route towards the Weetslade Country Park, then past Gosforth Nature Reserve before arriving back at the Asda car park.

Please remember your wet weather gear and tools to fix a puncture. You may wish to bring a drink and a snack.
