To celebrate International Women's Day, and take you to the next level of confidence, we will be riding this popular leafy route, suitable for women who want take the next step. This is suitable for women who have tried out a starter ride or 2 and want to practice some gentle hills. We'll ride as a group at a gentle pace on quiet roads and through beautiful parks so no-one will be left behind and there will be chances to rest whenever is needed.
Starting at the café in Oakhill Park, we will run through bike checks before we set off. We start with a gentle circuit of Oakhill Park and then along quiet flat roads before riding along the beautiful Pymmes Brook trail, through Brunswick Park and Arnos Park. We then ride through a couple of residential streets before reaching Broomfield Park.
We then start the gentle climb to Grovelands Park where we stop for a cuppa and snack overlooking the lake.
After some gently undulating terrain we have another gentle climb to Oakwood Park where we can stop at another café if needed ! We then have a nice flat ride and steep descent back to Oakhill Park. Check your brakes are working !
The route is 8 miles and together with the coffee break will take about 2 ½ hours.
