Hooton Train Station, Ellesmere Port, Cheshire West and Chester, CH66 7NL

This is a gentle ride along the Wirral Way from Hooton Train Station to Parkgate. If you are coming by car there is plenty of free parking available and if you are coming by train there are regular services from Liverpool, Birkenhead, Ellesmere Port and Chester. There are really good lifts at the station with plenty of room for you and your bike from one platform to another. This is a terrific cycle ride it follows the track bed of part of the former Birkenhead Railway route from Hooton to West Kirby (but we won’t be going that far on this ride). We start off at Hooton Railway Station near Ellesmere Port and head towards Neston entering the lovely Wirral Country Park on the way. We will go to Parkgate for a cup of Coffee there (or have the famous ice cream)! The path is all off road and very safe with some nice views along the way and all very flat. We will pass through Willaston, on to Neston and arrive at Parkgate - it will take about 45mins to 60mins. The picturesque village of Parkgate is nestled away on the west coast of South Wirral and has been a popular tourist resort for many years. It has always attracted people from near and far to enjoy its unique and appealing experience. It is famous for its abundance of wildlife in the estuary including a large variety of birds.  If you need to ask any questions please call me on 07729 114055 or email me at [email protected]. Women and children (over age of 14) are welcome on this ride and it will take us about an hour there and one hour back. Newcomers to Breeze rides are very welcome, don't worry if you don't know anyone, we're a friendly bunch.  Dress appropriately for the weather: in cool weather it's good to wear lots of thin layers, so you can add/remove them as needed; a rain jacket is a good idea too!  Wearing a helmet is advisable; if you don’t have one please do not to worry you can still take part.  If you enjoy the bike ride and would like to come again perhaps you could look to buy one then. Look forward to seeing you there! Sara
