Enjoy the start of Spring with this gentle ride though the Kent valley. Using quiet country roads we quickly leave Kendal and visit Natland, Sedgwick and Sizergh before returning via Prizet. There's only traffic noise for one short section along the cycle path beside the A591 - otherwise it's all country lanes with great views.

The route loops around Sizergh Castle, home to the Strickland family for more than 700 years. If you like, we'll stop off for coffee and view the family portraits, dating back to Thomas Strickland who led the Kendal bowmen at the battle of Agincourt. Other coffee and snacks stops are at Low Sizergh Barn or the Ice Cream Farm, depending on the weather.

Free parking, toilets and an end-of ride swim if you want it at Kendal Leisure Centre.
