King & Queen Consort visit: A ride from Forest Farm to Cardiff Bay and back

This is a lovely ride from Forest Farm, following the River Taff into the city centre and then continuing to Cardiff Bay. We'll be mainly on cycle paths with some on-road sections

It's flat and scenic and Cardiff Council is encouraging people to cycle if they're coming for the visit.

Cycle routes may, however, be crowded because of the royal visit, so we might have to push and walk some sections, or change the plan on the day. We'll still have a ride though!

The aim of this ride is to catch a glimpse of the new King and Queen Consort on their first sovereign visit to Wales. It's going to be busy, and there will be some hanging around as we wait to see them near the Senedd in Cardiff Bay. Starting at Forest Farm, this is a flat route along the Taff Trail, around the barrage. The aim is to go to the Senedd to see King Charles III and the Queen Consort. There will be some waiting around for the royal visitors - please bring snacks/a packed lunch and a drink.

Mostly traffic-free with some sections on road

We'll stop as close to we can to the Senedd to view the royal visit if possible. Please bring your own snacks and drinks for this.

Helmets are strongly advised and please bring your own spares and tools as well as a snack/packed lunch and a drink. Please dress appropriately for cycling, the weather and the occasion as the royals visit for a motion of condolence.
