Kirklees Riders-Aspley Marina

We will start out through Ravensthorpe to join the Mirfield Greenway and head towards Colne Bridge, crossing the A62 at Bradley.
From there we will take the greenway towards Huddersfield before joining the canal for the last couple of miles to the marina.
Return will be by the reverse route.

This Sunday’s ride will leave the Leggers Inn and go up the Mirfield Greenway before joining the Huddersfield Broad Canal to Aspley Marina.

We will travel along a combination of greenways, towpaths and tarmac roads. We will encounter a reasonable amount of traffic on the tarmac sections so riders will need to be confident in those situations. Mountain bikes or hybrids with off-road tyres are best suited to this ride. Road tyres will struggle in places due to the last 1.5 miles to, and then back from the marina being canal towpath.

There will be a toilet stop at Aspley Marina.

Please bring a spare inner tube suitable for the tyres on the bike you are riding. Helmets are mandatory on all Kirklees Riders outings.
