We'll head out on the cycle path towards Hatston, and up through the industrial estate to our first trail past the golf course. We'll then head along Sunnybank Road and down through Muddiesdale woods before heading south towards Scapa via the Crantit trail. After the obligatory coffee/photo stop we'll head back along Crantit and wind our way back towards the start point via the Glaitness and Peerie Sea cycle paths.

An off-road/quiet tracks ride around the western bridleways of Kirkwall. Please note this ride is unsuitable for 'slick' road tyres as it requires some grip in places.

Mostly traffic free, however we will have a couple of very small sections of main road at the start to reach our first bridleway, and between Glaitness/Crantit trail

We'll pause at Scapa Beach where there is access to toilets, and hopefully a hot cuppa for those who wish to purchase from the coffee van.

Helmets advisable, and please dress in comfortable clothing that is appropriate for the weather - we expect it to be fairly cool with the possibility of showers so please bring or wear a waterproof jacket. Riders should bring a spare tube to fit your own tyres if you have one, and enough water/snacks to last - or pennies for the van if you wish to purchase a hot drink.

First-timers welcome!
