Starting point

Devon
PL5 1LP

We take the old road up through Saltash and cross over the A38 on a cyclebridge. We then join the A388 by Tamar valley Nuseries and leave the main road at Hatt. We continue along country lanes to Callington. We join the A390 Callington to Tavistock along an off road cyclepath beside it and climb the lane at Kit hill to the cafe.
After the cafe stop we can look at the Rising Sun Nuseries and continue into Harrowbarrow and look at the old engine houses before returning to Plymouth

This is a beautiful route taken you along the Tamar valley to Louis Cafe at Kit Hill. We leave busy Saltash behind and when we turn off at Hatt village we take a scenic ridge ride along country lanes towards Callington.

As much as possible we take quiet country lanes and the old main road. We also use on road and off road cycle paths. However we do travel along the A388 where necessary. This road is quieter and wider than the A386 but care has to be taken on this main road.

I like to think that Louis does premier home cooked food with a lovely view. If we have lunch then perhaps we would explore the village of Harrowbarrow rather than climb up to the summit of Kit Hill. Kit hill summit is 0ne mile up a steep track a challenge not necessarily for all riders to do.

helmets waterproofs money phone spare inner tube and patience to wait for everyone climbing some steep hills

We never leave anyone behind
