FY6 0EA

A relatively flat, 'there and back' ride that starts from the (free) car park on Quaile Home Road, Knott End on Sea and mostly follows a coastal route passing through Lancaster Morecambe and Carnforth. The majority of the route is on hard surfaced roads and paths with a 2 to 3 mile stretch of gravel surfaced countryside path between Glasson Dock and Lancaster. Our planned refreshment stop will be at The Old School Brewery, Holly Bank Barn, Warton after approximately 28 miles although it is likely that we may take unplanned stops dependent on the weather conditions on the day. This is a very scenic route and there will be plenty of photo opportunities along the way. We want everyone to enjoy the ride so it will be at a pace to suit all riders in the group (usually between 9-11 mph). This is a long ride and whilst relatively flat, please be sure (as best you can) you are capable of cycling 55-60 miles at the advertised pace. Be assured though that we will never leave anyone behind!

A relatively flat, 'there and back' ride that starts from the (free) car park on Quaile Home Road, Knott End on Sea and mostly follows a coastal route passing through Pilling, Cockerham, Lancaster, Morecambe, Hest Bank and Carnforth to our destination at Warton.

The majority of the route is on hard surfaced roads and coastal and cycle paths with a 2 to 3 mile stretch of gravel surfaced countryside path between Glasson Dock and Lancaster. Dependent on final route planning we will also travel on a section of the Lancaster Canal.

Our planned refreshment stop will be at The Old School Brewery, Holly Bank Barn, Warton after approximately 28 miles although it is likely that we will take additional unplanned stops for the topping up of water bottles etc. dependent on the weather conditions on the day. (hope the weather is as good as last Sunday!)

All riders will be required to wear a helmet and carry spare inner tubes and the means to be able to repair a puncture (assistance will be provided if required). Don't forget some money for the cafe stop (and hopefully ice cream somewhere along the route!) Make sure you carry plenty of fluids!
