We set off from Abbotswood and head up Stanbridge Lane to Awbridge. Down the long hill then left and up Tote Hill and along there until the junction with the Main A27. We will turn right and go a short distance along the main road before turning left by the Hatchet and back onto the country lanes to Landford and The Lavender Farm for our coffee etc.
Our ride back involves another short stretch on a main road as we head towards Nomansland. We will ride across Penn Common, Bramshaw and back to cross the A36 and cruise down Whinwhistle before heading up Ryedown and back into Romsey.
What goes up must come down - so there are both hills and descents!
The countryside is lovely. Hopefully we'll see some ponies with their foals as we go over Penn Common.

This is a relatively long ride using quiet country lanes with some hills.

Most of the ride is along quiet lanes but there are a couple of short stretches on busier roads where we will cycle together as a group.

You will need a roadworthy bike and a helmet. Please make sure your tyres are properly inflated and you have a set of tyre levers, an inner tube that fits your bike and a pump in case of a puncture. You should also bring an extra layer to put on in case we have to stop for any reason. You will definitely need a lock for your bike and either cash or a payment card for the coffee stop. We are going to the Lavender Farm for our coffee stop. There is a Gift Shop and Gardens to walk round. There is an Admission Charge for the Gardens. There is also a Plant Nursery..
