Getting to know the Velothon route!
Less climbing on this one (1700ft), but longer than any of our previous training rides at 58 miles.
We'll follow the coast road out to Newport and head towards Magor before turning and starting a climb through Langstone and down into Caerleon.
Our next climb takes us up an aptly named hill and after this we turn off the Velothon route and head back down to Caerleon for a well earned rest with a good coffee.
We will then follow the river back down into Newport and rejoin our outward path, ending with a nice flat section back down to Cardiff Bay.
As usual, come with drinks, snacks, and tools and spares, and check the forecast closer to the weekend - it could be chilly!
