Starting point

Warwickshire
CV1 4LZ

This ride is in partnership with the Canal and River Trust as is one of a number of activities on offer on the day as part of the WaterWAYS event in the canal basin.
The route is an 11 mile 'out and back' easygoing ride along the Coventry canal towpath from the canal basin in St Nicholas Street to Hawkesbury Junction our halfway turning point. and is ideal for beginners, families or those who have discovered or rediscovered the joy of riding a bike recently. There is also the added bonus of FREE refreshments, provided by the CRT, for all participants at Playwright's cafe!
Please note although this is a flat 'easygoing' ride, the towpath is quite narrow in parts and will require riders to be confident in handling their bike - as such it is not suitable for very young children unless in child seats or tag-alongs. As the towpath has been recently resurfaced, the route isuitable for all types of bike.
Although helmets are not compulsory (except for those under 18yrs old), we strongly recommend wearing one due to some low bridges along the way! Please ensure your bike is in roadworthy condition and you'll also need to bring a spare inner tube and pump in case of a puncture and dress according to the weather on the day.
Be assured that we ride at a pace to suit everyone - it's certainly not a race and we'll stop to rest weary legs if needs be.
We look forward to meeting you!
