Starting point

Greater Manchester
M35 0QD

Starting from GROWE (Grass Roots Oldham Women's Enterprise) Cycle Hub in Failsworth along roads in Newton Heath, Gorton & Levenshulme we reach Station South Café & Cycle Hub (closed Mondays & Tuesdays) on the FLoop. After 10 miles we reach our late-brekkie/early-lunch stop at the fabulous Tea Cup Café in Droysden with its 1950s ambience, friendly staff and extensive menu of delicious homemade food. The last 4 miles take us along winding country lanes and short climbs on country park trails past ponds and the picturesque Crime Lake before joining more narrow roads back to the start.

Route rating

0 stars (0) Reviews

A primarily road ride in North Manchester with some off-road routes on the Fallowfield Loop and Daisy Nook Country Park.

Quiet roads (residential & narrow country lanes) long cycle lane on Alan Turing Way and short stretches on busy main roads like Hyde Road and Manchester Road.

After our main pit stop at the Tea Cup Café in Droylsden, we ride back via some long country lanes to another toilet stop at Daisy Nook CP.

Helmets are advisable plus a spare inner tube and tyre levers in case of an unexpected puncture. The café will accept cash and debit/credit cards

Please ensure you're comfortable cycling on busy roads alongside other traffic. We'll aim to ride at an average speed of 10mph on roads and less along traffic-free shared routes with pedestrians. There'll be at least 2 Cycling UK trained volunteers: a backstop as well as a ride leader. No one is ever left behind.
