This is a beautiful route to the Galloway Forest Park. We turn left up the Challoch hill B7027 and right towards Loch Ochiltree. We turn right onto the A714 and then left to Glentrool visitors Centre, where we have lunch.

(From the visitors centre, we can cycle to Bruce’s Stone to look at the views over Loch Trool and cycle back to the Visitors Centre. )

Then, we cycle back to Newton Stewart along the Wood of Cree Road, passing an impressive waterfall on the way.
