Long Bennington Loop

We meet at Tawny owl and head off towards Claypole. Here we will take a right towards Dry Doddington. As we enter the village there is short but relatively steep hill we continue until a T junction where we will turn left and head out to Marston via Hougham. This part of the ride is flat and on quiet roads through beautiful countryside. We will do a loop around Marston village through Barkston and then head back through Hougham onto Dry Doddington and head through more lovely quieter roads to Long Bennington. Here we will head back to Newark over the A1 via the bridge following the road until we get to T junction where we will turn right for about 3 miles until we get to Staple Lane on the right leading us back to Fernwood and the Tawny Owl. Here we have option to use the cycle path or go around the main roundabout. This ride is perfect for those who are already confident out on the road, its an intermediate ride. We will always ride at the pace of the slowest rider so no one is left behind. We really welcome newcomers to our rides.  It's a good idea to bring some water and you may also want to bring a snack if you think your energy levels may need topping up along the way.  Wearing a helmet is compulsory on this ride. Please bring some money if you want to buy refreshments.
