The route begins in front of the life centre. We will follow covid rules and follow local paths through the open spaces of Central Park. We will travel along the pavement under the railway bridge to have our first photo opportunity (local heros) at North Cross roundabout .
We will then travel through the university to look at Drakes Leat and the Box before stopping at the North Gate Tablet. We then head for St Andrews Church and Prysten House. Along from there we head for the Barbican looking at Old Town walls, and through old streets to the Mayflower Steps.
After leaving the Barbican we travel to the Hoe to stop at Smeatons tower and the Peace garden. The return to Central parks will be via Royal William Yard (coffee stop) , Victoria Park(coffee stop) or directly back via Armada Way for a coffee at the new central park cafe.

This route takes you to an older smaller Plymouth of 1620. There are several stops for points of interest as we discover why the Mayflowers voyage to America has historic significance for Plymouth and New England. What makes the Pilgrims important to the USA even after 400 years.

We will be avoiding main roads where posssible and also using cycle paths through the local parks. We will take care in and around pedestrian areas and on pavements and will push our bikes across pedestrian crossings on busy roads. There are some cobbles around the Barbican to ride over. There is a small amount of on road riding.

We will be stopping at Historic points of interest. Faith , food and Native Americans involvement with the Pilgrims story will be discussed as we look at Elizabethan Plymouth

Helmet, Waterproofs, money for a coffee stop and energy bar is advisable

We never leave anyone behind
