Starting point

West Yorkshire
BD18 1BU

We cross over Leeds Road and head up towards Wrose including two short traffic free sections. We then head towards the Leeds Cycle Super Highway at Thornbury via residential streets and avoid the busy Five Lane Ends roundabout. We follow the Cycle Super Highway across the roadworks at Dawson's Corner before taking quieter roads through Farsley and Swinnow before turning back on the Pudsey boundaries to reach our café stop at Winnebagel which is at 2/3rds distance and just before we cross over the Cycle Super Highway to make the figure of eight. We climb up to Woodhall Hills with its spectacular 180degree views of Leeds and Bradford before dropping down into Calverley and then crossing the canal at Apperley Bridge before the final uphill section to Thackley before a nice quiet downhill ride to Shipley.

Figure of eight ride from Shipley circling Pudsey that is 22 miles and less hilly than some. Taking in a mixture of urban and rural areas with the opportunity to see Sunnybank Mills(Home of The Sewing Bee) and the Moravian Settlement in Pudsey though the school is now closed.

Predominantly on roads that are residential or rural with minimal main road sections. Brief sections on tracks but these are easily ridden.

We will stop at 2/3rds distance to partake of the fare at Winnebagel Café. Interestingly the opening hours have been extended beyond 2pm so maybe there has been a change of ownership.

Helmets are a must and some hi-vis outerwear is desirable to maximise safety. Bring a spare inner tube as a minimum. Will you also make sure that your contact details are correct on the Lets Ride website.

We never leave anyone behind
