Meandering from Ilkley

Starting from - We will meet outside Ilkley Railway Station. The Lido Car Park is now fee paying and Ilkley generally is either permit or pay parking. Sometimes there are free parking spaces on Denton Road but cannot be guaranteed. Slightly further afield there are usually free spaces on Wheatley Lane opposite Valley Road down from Ben Rhydding Station. In addition, there are trains arriving at 10.03 and 10.17. One is the Bradford train and the other the Leeds train but both stop at Guiseley, LS29 8HA

We leave Ilkley and take the back road to Bolton Bridge via Nessfield. We the have a short section on the busy A59 before heading along some quiet up and down roads through Storiths, Barden and Appletreewick before our lunch stop in Burnsall. We then go back on the other side of the river past Barden Tower and Bolton Abbey before crossing the A59 again but this time going up past Beamsley Beacon and Langbar before heading back into Ilkley.

Opportunity for Meanderers to do just that by starting in Ilkley and heading to Burnsall before returning on the opposite side of the River Wharfe.

All of the route is on road though most of them will be quiet rural roads with main road exposure at a minimum

We will stop at Wharfe View Tea Rooms in Burnsall, the only one open that day as far as I can see.

Helmets to be worn along with a visible top rather than dark colours. Spare inner tube and suitable clothing for whatever the weather throws at us. Whilst he ride is 27 miles it is hilly so make sure that e-bike riders charge fully.
