Starting from - Circular area by the Lucy Thomas Memorial Fountain and Church.
From the train station follow the curly ramps down and across the car park.
Car park here is Gillar street car park £3.50 a day.
(Tesco 2hour limit so dont park here).
Cyfarthfa Park has free parking and toilets. From here follow the hill down turn left at lights Joseph Parry's cottage is on the left and we get here by around 10:50. CF47 8DS

Following the Taff Trail we see relics of Merthyr's industrial heritage, the iron works, Cyfarthfa Castle and Cefn Coed Viaduct. Cycling through the peaceful Taf Fechan Valley along old railway lines and country lanes with view of Morlais Castle and Ponsticill Reservoir in the Brecon Beacons National Park.
We will stop at The Old Barn Tea Rooms, Torpantau for refreshments.
Please bring some change as they don't take cards.The hill by the tearooms is not included on the route map.
The trail has a good tarmac surface and the roads are quiet and although the route is hilly and undulating we can take our time to enjoy the scenery.
