We will join the High Peak Trail, travelling along some lovely rural roads, taking in Carsington Waters, and passing though the “Thankful Village” of Bradbourne , later joining the Tissington Trail, followed by a little detour to visit the National Trust beautiful Ilam Hall, returning via the lovely village of Tissington, onto the trail again to rejoin Hight Peak trail at Parsley Hey.

Hoping to stop for a lunch break at Ilam Hall Cafe. Although will be eating weather permitting outside, so feel free to bring a picnic lunch if preferred although, I love the cheese scones on offer at the cafe.

There are a couple of very challenging hills on this ride. We can always walk if necessary and will regroup leaving no one behind. It’s a lovely scenic route and if the sun Is shining no where better for expansive rural countryside views.

Bikes need to be in tip top condition as good brakes will be required for the very steep descent into Ilam and low gears essential as well as strong legs and stamina for the climb back to Thorpe. Helmets essential. This is a great ride to build stamina ready for the Yorkshire Lass Sportive in July.

This ride is a mix of trails, some of the trails have good surfaces but it can be very gravelly in places, and rural roads. Hence off road hybrid tyres or mountain bike tyres are best suited for these trails. Although also would be fine on e bikes with hybrid off road tyres, Or on gravel bikes.
