We meet at the Woolstone Cricket Green carpark on Newport Road (100m north of the Cross Keys pub) at 09.30.
The ride is a 12 mile circular ride following the Millennium route with a few detours to avoid the MK Half Marathon route on Saturday. There's some really scenic sections, so we'll stop occasionally to take photos and also have a sip of water.
We set off towards Willen then head for the Grand Union Canal where we join the Millennium Route. We follow the canal until we head west to Great Linford and pick up the Railway Walk. We then turn south through the Loughton Valley Park passing Bradwell Abbey, and round part of Lodge Lake. Onwards through Loughton, past the Tear Drop Lakes, The MK Bowl and up to Leadenhall. We head further east on the redway through the outskirts of Fishermead then downhill to Woolstone and the lovely Newport Road back to the starting point.
We will ride at a steady pace of about 10mph and no-one will be left behind. Please bring a bottle of water and a spare inner tube and puncture repair tools.
Out of courtesy for others please do NOT attend the ride if you have any Covid signs or symptoms, such as a persistent cough, high temperature, OR if you have been in contact with anyone with the Covid virus.
We will aim to take about 2hrs for the ride, so will be back at the carpark about 11.30am. If we have time we may like to have a coffee or tea in the garden of the nearby Cross Keys pub, but this isn't obligatory.
If you have any questions about the ride, please do send me a message and I'll get back to you. If you find on the day you are unable to make the ride, please don't worry but do send a quick message so we aren't waiting around for you.
