This ride is for you if:-
- you’ve signed up to West London Breeze, but not come on a ride with us yet
- you’ve ridden with us a few times, but don’t often get the chance
- you’ve ridden with us in the past (we’ve been going since 2017!) but got out of the habit
- you're looking for an easy-going local ride, to help you build confidence on your bike
This is a short easy-going local ride at a leisurely pace, with plenty of time to look around at the attractive neighbourhoods and riverside views of this part of West London.
From Ealing, we ride down to Chiswick Bridge and onto the riverside at Mortlake. We turn up through quiet back roads, perhaps making a detour to visit the remarkable, and recently restored, tomb of the 19th century explorer Sir Richard Burton in Mortlake churchyard (

Reaching Barnes, we ride through a short stretch of potentially busy road, then make our way past the Wetland Centre onto the riverside path. We enjoy riverside views on a traffic free, unsealed track, for the short distance back to Hammersmith Bridge. We cross back over the river on the historic, and currently traffic-free, Hammersmith Bridge. We turn up through Hammersmith to our café stop at the Paddenswick Tea Gardens in Ravenscourt Park.

A short local ride on quiet back roads, with riverside views.
We use mainly quieter roads, cycle paths, a short stretch on an unsealed riverside track, and shared paths in parks. We will need to dismount and walk our bikes for approx 100m under the railway bridges in Barnes.
We will stop for refreshments at the Paddenswick Tea Gardens in Ravenscourt Park.
Money/card for cafe. A lock for your bike.
First-timers welcome!
