From Merryoaks Community centre we will follow the cyclepath along the A167 to Croxdale where we will join quiet road to Tudhoe and then through the back roads of Spennymoor to visit the plaque to Kate Maxey after which we will stop for refreshments (probably Spoons) on the return journey we will cycle through Hett to Sunderland Bridge to rejoin the cyclepath and return to the start.

We will stop for refreshments at Spennymoor.

Helmets are always advisable, as is clothing suitable for the weather and a bottle of water. We also recommend snacks, a spare inner tube and a pump.
